HEALTH & BEAUTY:
The Aloe is the symbol of beauty. In times of Cleopatra the plant was appreciated for its rejuvenating effect on people's skin. Moreover, fresh cut leaves can be used for low grade burns and minor skin irritations.
INDOOR VS. OUTDOOR:
For indoors during the fall/winter months, keep the Aloe in a warm and sunny location. For outdoors in the spring/summer months, keep the plant in a part-sun to full-sun location.
CARE:
Aloe Vera needs to be in a place that's bright with indirect sunlight, Soil needs to be well-draining. Aloe can handle drought well, but prefers to be watered regularly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

There are over 300 species of Aloe vera, but the one most commonly grown as a houseplant is Aloe barbadensis miller.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has devised a system to provide gardeners with a basic guide to plant hardiness – how much winter cold a plant can withstand. The Hardiness Zone Map system divides the United States and Canada into numbered zones based on lowest average winter temperature. Even within a zone, different micro-climates exist, such as large urban areas which may be warmer or land situated at different elevations.
